Eyeglass Recycling Steps

Step 1: Collection of old eyeglasses via donations

Step 2: Donated eyeglasses are sorted - sunglasses, broken frames and single lenses are separated from intact pairs

Step 3: The prescription of each lens is determined using a Lensometer

Step 4: Glasses are cleaned and packaged according to their prescriptions

Step 5: Processed glasses are categorized and packaged into cardboard boxes

Step 6: Eyeglasses are sent to various developing countries on dispensing missions made up of volunteer doctors and staff, who perform free eye examinations

Step 7: Eyeglasses are distributed during dispensing missions to the poor and needy, according to individual prescriptions
